Herts CC is investigating problems on High Wych Footpath 001. At the High Wych Road entrance the landowner has recently enclosed the field the footpath crosses with a wooden fence. Access for walkers is via an inappropriate set of stiles at each end of the enclosure which do not comply with the County’s standards.

This very useful and well used urban public footpath connects Apton Road to Windhill. It links three local schools – St Josephs Primary, St Michael’s Primary and St Mary’s Secondary providing a valuable link for parents and pupils. Some good news.
Work is currently underway on the section of Wickham Hall Drive, south of the Bishop’s Stortford bypass underpass, to construct a segregated pedestrian path. This will connect to the path that was built by David Harvey, the landowner, a couple of years ago from the underpass to the Wickham Hall Business Centre.… Continue reading

We have confirmed with the Bishop’s Stortford North Consortium that Bishop’s Stortford Footpath 002 has been partially reopened. The public can now access the footpath from Dane O’Coys and walk approximately 500 metres north. The footpath will not be fully open until a new access road into the estate from the bypass has been constructed.… Continue reading
