M11 Alsa Wood Footbridge: waterproofing

Highways England will be carrying out essential waterproofing and resurfacing work to the Alsa Wood Footbridge over the M11, west of the village of Elsenham.

They plan to complete this work over 3 weeks from Monday 20 September to Friday 08 October. The footpath leading to the bridge on either side will be closed 24/7 for the duration of this work.

Pedestrians will be diverted to cross the M11 via the B1051 over bridge.

For this work to be carried out safely, there will also be a lane closure in place directly under the footbridge on the northbound carriageway, on weeknights only from 9pm to 6am. No diversion route or full closures will be required for the M11 however, please expect some delays.
