NATURE & CLIMATE ELECTION HUSTINGS

The Bishop’s Stortford Climate Group has organised an election hustings to focus on environmental issues. This will take place on Sunday, 23rd June at South Mill Arts, from 2pm. Candidates representing Reform UK (John Burmicz), Liberal Democrats (Helen Campbell), Green Party (Nick Cox) and Labour (Josh Dean) have agreed to attend. Unfortunately, our standing Member of Parliament, Julie Marsden, has declined the invitation. The event will be chaired by Jason Cowley, editor of New Statesman magazine.

If would be great to have local walkers and cyclists in attendance to flag their support for improved funding for active travel in our town. We are experiencing significant development in the Bishop’s Stortford area without the necessary investment in walking and cycling infrastructure to support it.
