NETWORK RAIL LEVEL CROSSING REDUCTION ORDER – SAWBRIDGEWORTH FOOTPATH 003 (TEDNAMBURY)

We reported in November 2024 that a Planning Application had been submitted to East Herts District Council by Network Rail in relation to the closure of the Tednambury pedestrian rail crossing and the diversion of Sawbridgeworth Footpath 003. The work was has now been completed and the diversion is open.

I’m pleased to report that the work has been done to a very good standard and the diverted footpath is clearly marked from the closed rail crossing through Tednambury Farm and down to the River Stort. Personally, I found it to be a much better route which gives excellent views over the Stort Valley and is much safer too.
