We reported in March that the Canal & River Trust (CRT) was planning to undertake work to repair badly damaged sections of the River Stort towpath adjacent to the northern section of the Thorley Wash Nature Reserve. I am pleased to report that this work has been completed to a good standard and that the three sections of damaged towpath are now fully repaired.
The issue was first raised with the CRT by the BSDFA back in December 2021 when we conducted a site visit with the local CRT Operations Manager. The CRT like many charities is facing financial challenges and so we are grateful to them prioritising this work.
