I’m pleased to report that this crossing now appears to have been reopened following a six month temporary closure following the destruction of two stiles through vandalism. I checked the crossing yesterday and the warning signs and temporary fencing have been removed on either side of the railway embankment. A new wooden stile has been constructed on the western side of the track but on the Thorley Wash Nature Reserve side there is just a gap in the fence where the stile once stood. I would imagine that a second stile will be put in place in due course.

Walked this today, August 23rd, and the footpath has been fenced off again.
