lt would also be worth mentioning about the impact on the section of the Hertfordshire Way that runs through the site. When the Secretary of State refused permission for the relocation of the Herts and Essex and Bishop’s Stortford High Schools back in 2012 one of the key reasons for rejecting the application was the “significant adverse impact on the character, appearance and enjoyment of this section of the Hertfordshire Way in both recreational and visual terms”. This is as relevant today as it was in 2012.
